Page 10: "It was almost eight miles wide, traveling 30,000 miles per hour (more than three times faster than the speed of sound), creating a hundred-mile-wide crater..."
The speed of sound in air at STP is about 761 mph. So the asteroid was traveling 3 times faster than that, but a better speed comparison would be to say it traveled 39.4 times the speed of sound.
Page 45: "Divide by four to account for the spherical shape of Earth's surface, and multiple because more than thirty percent of the incoming sunlight is reflected back to space."
  Spelling: S/B "multiply".
Page 46: "It had oceans that were teaming with microbes."
  Spelling: S/B "teeming".
Page 79: "Thick, low stratus clouds provide a stabilizing feedback because, like ice, they reflect outgoing sunlight back to space."
  Word choice: S/B "incoming".
Page 90: "Some protagonists, like scientist-turned-doomsayer Guy MacPherson, insist that such a scenario is underway now—that large reservoirs of previously frozen methane have been mobilized..."
  Missing space: S/B "under way".
Page 121: "At the opposite end of the spectrum of Snowball Earth is Hothouse Earth."
  Word choice: S/B "from".
Page 141: "But the conclusions we draw from these periods are laden in caveats."
Word choice: S/B "laden with caveats".
Page 163: "The changes in insolation from obliquity (Earth's tilt)during the key Arctic summer is more than ten times larger."
  Number error: S/B "change".
Page 176: "...the process of marine ice-sheet destabilization is already underway on Thwaites Glacier."
  Missing space: S/B "under way".
Page 176: "He and colleagues have concluded that similar behavior may be underway for Pine Island Glacier."
  Missing space: S/B "under way".
Page 200: "...the most comprehensive recent study [. . .] argues that AMOC collapse is underway."
  Missing space: S/B "under way".
Page 227: "Once the air near the surface reaches 118°F, it no longer provides enough buoyancy for liftoff to be achieved before the accelerating aircraft reaches the end of the runway."
Word choice: is "buoyancy" the correct word?
Page 239: "We already see challenges to that stability from political movements that are underway and growing competition over diminishing natural resources."
  Missing space: S/B "under way".
